YAA New Base at Skipton on Swale...

Occasionally, I end up in some unusual situations in pursuit of items of interest for these columns, but last week's was the oddest.

Giving thanks for dry and calm weather (a scarce commodity over the last few days) I found myself in a field just off the A61, not too far from the Maple Park Crematorium and Cafe.

The turf and topsoil had been stripped off, so everyone present was grateful that the earth was dry and sandy.
